Meet & Greets

These events provide opportunities to:

• Network with fellow sexuality professionals
• Earn AASECT Continuing Education (CE) credits (when applicable)
• Explore timely topics in sexuality education, counseling, and therapy
• Learn more about AASECT certification pathways
• Receive mentorship and guidance
• Increase awareness and involvement in AASECT

Meet & Greets are a vital part of AASECT’s professional community, bringing members and prospective members together for both social connection and educational growth.

Types of Meet and Greets

AASECT has two types of Meet and Greets:

1. Social Meet & Greets

Informal gatherings such as:

• Lunch meetups
• Happy hours
• Networking socials

These events focus on connection and community-building. Note: Social Meet & Greets do not offer CE credit.

2. Educational Meet & Greets

Structured learning events featuring:

• A speaker or presentation
• Facilitated discussions on relevant sexuality topics

Educational Meet & Greets:

• Must be at least one hour in length
• Must meet AASECT CE criteria
• May include members and prospective members
• Offer AASECT CE credits when approved

Planning and Approval Process

Regional Representatives and section heads are responsible for presenting Meet and Greet plans and ideas to the Vice President of Membership for approval.

• Regional representatives are expected to oversee at least 1 Meet & Greet per quarter.
• Section heads and committee members across the region are encouraged to hold quarterly Meet & Greets.
