Membership Types

Professional Members — $220/year

Our most popular category: AASECT Professional Members are eligible to pursue AASECT certification according to Board-approved procedures. Members in good standing may serve on most committees, vote in elections, and participate in organizational decision-making.

Early Career Professional Members — $160/year

For those who were full-time students at an accredited institution within the past 3 years. Eligible to pursue AASECT certification following the same procedures as Professional Members.

AASECT may audit Early Career status to verify eligibility. Those who do not meet the criteria must either update their membership type and pay any fee difference or have their membership ended.

Supporting Members — $220/year

For individuals who support AASECT’s mission but are not eligible to pursue AASECT certification. Supporting Members may participate in most committees.
They may vote only for:

  • Vice President of Membership
  • Regional Representatives to the Membership Services Steering Committee

They may not vote in general elections, hold officer roles, serve as Directors, or chair committees.

Student Members — $100/year

For individuals currently enrolled full-time in undergraduate or graduate programs at recognized,accredited institutions.

Student Members may serve on most committees and vote within committee structures.

AASECT may audit Student Member eligibility. Those not meeting criteria must update their membership type and pay any fee differences, or their membership may be ended.

Retired Members — $125/year

Available to Professional Members aged 60+ who are working half-time or less in the field. Reduced dues require supporting documentation and the Executive Director's approval.

Emeritus/Emerita/Emeritix — One-time payment of $1,000.00

Available to members aged 65+. This category includes lifetime membership. Certification renewal requirements (CE, ethics, supervision, fees, etc.) remain in place. Apply via the Emeritus/Emerita/Emeritix Membership form.

Payment Information

Annual payment must be in U.S. funds drawn on a US-affiliated bank. Members outside North America may request adjusted dues based on World Bank economy rankings. Contact the AASECT office for details.

Membership and Certification

Membership must be active before beginning supervision and maintained continuously while pursuing and holding certification.

Refund Policy

Membership dues refunds are available by written request within 30 calendar days of joining AASECT. Membership dues are non-refundable beyond 30 calendar days from the member join date.
